Learn all the basic skills when it comes to Sewing Machine in this fun workshop!
This workshop will introduce you to a sewing machine and its various parts, going over what each of these do, and how it all works. We will show you how to thread your machine, how to fill your bobbin, change a needle, and there will be time for sewing practice and an opportunity to make a simple item with basic seams.
We will build on your knowledge by looking at the different types of seams and finishing techniques, including how to insert a zip, make buttonholes and how to maintain your sewing machine and prevent costly service charges. There will also be an opportunity to make a simple item to take home with you using your new found skills!
This course is suitable for both complete beginners and for those with experience who would like a refresher course or who are using a new, unfamiliar machine.
If you own a sewing machine then you are welcome to bring this along and work with this during the workshop, but we ask that you let us know prior to the workshop so that we can prepare for this.
