  • Tuesday to Thursday3pm to 4pm

Can't make those times? We have Tech Donation Boxes in workplaces and public buildings around Edinburgh, so there may be one closer to you. The map shows where they are.

What happens to your data

We securely wipe every device before it's refurbished or recycled. If a hard drive can't be wiped, it's destroyed.

Before you drop off a phone or tablet, please sign out of your Apple ID or Google account. Otherwise the device stays locked and we can't reuse it.

What happens to your device

  1. Repair

Our technicians test every device and refurbish everything they can.

  2. Reuse

Refurbished devices are gifted to people facing digital exclusion, or sold at affordable prices in our shop to fund our work.

  3. Recycle

If we can't repair it, we recycle it responsibly, so as little as possible ends up in landfill.

Why we repair first and recycle last

Electronic waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams. Devices contain hazardous substances that leach into soil and water when they end up in landfill. Recycling recovers some raw materials, but repairing a laptop keeps the whole thing in use and avoids the emissions of making a new one.
