Secret Pocket Book Making, Thursday 18th August 2022
Creating your own unique books out of scrap paper is not only a fantastic way to make use of old magazines and books, wrapping paper, gift bags, newspapers, and other decorative papers, and saving these from going to waste, but it’s also a brilliant creative pursuit to learn and it’s possibilities are endless!
In this introductory book-making workshop you’ll learn a simple but completely unique book-making technique to create a book with hidden pockets for storing secret mementos and keepsakes in. These make brilliant gifts to others or for yourself, and the skills you’ll learn in this class can be used time and again to make your own books at home!
What you’ll need to bring:
We have plenty of paper and materials for you to use, but if you have any of the following items you’d like to use in your design then please do bring these along with you:
– Any paper items such as magazines, wrapping paper, books, newspapers, coloured or decorative paper of any size
– Card, for example gift bags, coloured card, or even cardboard cereal boxes or similar items
– Postal envelopes of any size
– Plastic shopping bags
– Any embellishments such as ribbons, threads, buttons, scrabble squares, keyboard keys, sequins, feathers, you name it! Anything that you want to include in your design, can be.
