Make Your Own Reusable Eco-Friendly Face Pads, Saturday 25th May 2019

Being sustainable needn’t be difficult. Switch up your everyday products with these simple and reusable mini makes!

Join the Edinburgh Remakery and Ruth Morris of Roobedo in this new 2-hour workshop and learn how to make a bundle of reusable face pads from recycled materials, as well as a bag to store and wash them in!

Save on all those face wipes and cotton wool pads that just go to landfill; these pads are washable, reusable, environmentally friendly, and great fun to make. You’ll save yourself money in the long run, and will never look back!

Get creative and learn some basic, essential sewing skills whilst making daily products more eco-friendly. Perfect for yourself or to give as gifts! All materials, tools and equipment are provided, but if you have old t-shirts or soft cotton remnants please bring these along with you,,  No prior experience or skills are needed to join this workshop.

About Ruth and Roobedo
Growing up in Dundee, Ruth graduated from The Scottish College of Textiles (Galashiels) in 1993 and has worked in the Scottish clothing and textile industry ever since. Starting out as a pattern cutter and garment technologist, then after a time in retail and manufacture, she went on to set-up her own business ROOBEDO in 1999 and is now settled in Pitlochry making clothing, accessories and homeware that she ships all over the world.  She lectures part-time in the Textiles Department at Dundee & Angus College and loves to run community workshops, passing on her skills whilst focusing on her passion of recycling, repairing and reusing.   She is also a busy mum of two, with a whippet for company in her studio.
