Learn Machine Knitting in this practical, useful and fully hands-on workshop

Ever wanted to speed up your knitting? Come to this introductory workshop and learn how to use a knitting machine. They can seem intimidating at first but we will guide you through everything from opening the box to finishing a small project to take home. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or have some skills that need refreshing, we can get you (re)started.

We will cover setting up the machine, selecting the right kind of yarn, casting on, plain knitting, casting off, sewing up and packing the machine away correctly. If time allows, we can also try out different stitches, two colour work and simple shaping techniques.

You can choose from a few simple projects to practice these skills – wrist-warmers, a small pouch or a beanie hat.

This course is suitable for ages 16+ and for complete beginners or those with some experience who would like a refresher course.

Knitting machines will be provided along with all materials, equipment, tools and yarns, although if you have some 4-ply/fingering weight yarn you’d like to use then please do bring it along.

And of course, we’ll have those all-important teas and coffees ready to keep your creativity flowing.

Workshop Cancellations, Changes, and Refunds

– Workshop bookings are non-refundable.

– If you are no longer able to attend your booked workshop, we may be able to offer you a place on an equivalent course or workshop if we are notified up to five working days before the course or workshop start date, and if there is availability.

– In the event that a workshop is cancelled by us, we will offer you the choice to transfer your space to the next available date for the workshop booked, a space on a different workshop (please note that if selecting a workshop on a higher price, the difference would need to be paid) or offer you a full refund. We will endeavour to inform you of cancellations at least three days before the event, where possible.
