Japanese Tote Bag Making, Saturday 20th August 2022
You can pick up a tote bag almost anywhere these days, but finding something unique and beautiful – and just as useful – is a whole different story!
Join our Japanese Tote Bag making workshop and learn to cut, assemble and finish off a wonderfully colourful and stylish Tote bag using Japanese techniques.
The construction of this bag is not only simple and attractive, it is also infinitely customisable and can be adapted to any size from a large holdall to a small handbag. This workshop will spark your creativity and teach you the skills to make and customise your own tote bag, leaving you with the knowledge to make more yourself time and again!
In this workshop you will learn:
* How to cut and assemble a more complex bag
* How to sew up seams and turn corners
* How to add narrow hems
* How to add finishing touches to your project
We’ll show you some easy sewing tricks and teach you how to machine sew. A perfect project whether you’re a complete newbie to sewing or having been working with textiles for a while.
At the Remakery, you’ll be provided with all the necessary tools, fabrics and sewing machines to make this bag but you are very welcome to bring your own fabric if you have something in mind already!
If you own a sewing machine then you are welcome to bring this along and work with this during the workshop, but we ask that you let us know prior to the workshop so that we can prepare for this.
