TimeSame time the next evening for part 2
Using Dye to Breathe New Life into Preloved Garments, Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th of April 2021
Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th of April 2021, 18.30 – 20.00
During this workshop, led by textile artist Jess Hawley, you will learn the basics of natural, low-impact fabric dyeing. In this two part workshop you’ll be taught techniques around preparing and utilising red cabbage dye to transform your preloved clothing into new, fresh and vibrant pieces!
These sessions will involve an exploration into different fabrics, mordants and dyeing equipment, as well as looking at ways to personalise your dyeing practice to suit your own needs and achieve different results.
You will first practice dyeing a number of folded patterns on recycled cloth before learning how to upcycle and transform your own chosen item of clothing using this traditional dyeing technique.
