If you have an unwanted item that you want to get rid of but don’t want to end up in landfill,
​The Edinburgh Remakery might be able to help.
​We can accept donations of IT equipment and small home furnishings.
​ The information below gives you details of the items we can and can’t accept.

​If you have an item that is neither IT or furniture related that you want to rehome, please call the National Reuse Phone Line on: 0800 0665 820 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

IT donations

  • IT equipment that is in good working order and less than 6 years old
  • PCs with Dual Core or Core2Duo and better processors 
  • Laptops not older than 10 years old regardless their specs
  • USB keyboards
  • USB mice
  • Flat Panel monitors regardress their size
  • USB or LAN printers
  • USB scanners
  • Tablets and E-readers
  • Smartphones not older than 6 years old
  • iMacs not older than 6 years​
  • Macbooks of any age

Furniture donations

  • No items larger than a chest of drawers
  • All items have to be in a good state of repair, unless used specifically for repair or upcycle projects (check with woodwork tutor)
  • The Edinburgh Remakery reserves the right to refuse donations on grounds of suitability for the purpose of its business operations
