Remade in edinburgh​

Since 2012 Remade in Edinburgh has been offering engaging, creative and education repair workshops. Our services have been booked by the NHS, the Scottish Parliament, The Science Festival, West Lothian Council, Heriot Watt University, The Edinburgh University… and many more.

Dr Computer –
​our mobile computer and phone repair clinic can come to you. With prices starting at just £25 per appointment, this is a super popular service so please book in advnace at computer@remadeinedinburgh.org.uk

Remade Repair Directory –
​launching November 2016 we will be offering an online resource of repair business and projects across Edinburgh in our handy app. Log in and find the nearest repair business to you!

Customised workshops –
​we can host or come to you. We’ll speak to you first to design something with your audience and budget in mind. Prices start from £100 for a demo taster session.

ZERO WASTE SCOTLAND

Zero Waste Scotland is funded by the Scottish Government to support the delivery of its Circular Economy Strategy and other low carbon and resource efficiency policy priorities. 

​We are helping Scotland to become more efficient in its use of resources and supporting progress towards Scotland’s ambitious zero waste targets. 

Our mission is to influence and enable change: from gathering evidence and informing policy, to motivating practical behaviour change in individuals and organisations. 

We are pleased to have provided funding and support to The Edinburgh Remakery as part of our ambitious re-use and repair hub programme designed to generate flagship destinations for re-use retail and repair activities throughout Scotland.

CHAI

The Community Help & Advice Initiative (CHAI) has operated since 1997 providing a range of social welfare and housing support services to the residents of West and South Edinburgh. The key aim of CHAI is the alleviation of poverty and disadvantage through support, direct assistance and education.

CHAI delivers services in the following key areas
– Advice Services/EHAP (Housing, Debt, Benefits advice & representation)
– Housing Support (Home visiting service)
– Furniture Recycling

​CHAI’s furniture recycling service now works in partnership with Remade in Edinburgh to provide the Edinburgh Remakery with good quality second hand furniture for resale or refurbishment & repair. CHAI aim to be Revolve Accredited within the next few months to ensure quality standards are met.

The Waste & Recycling Team and Social Responsibility and Sustainability Office are delighted to be working with Remade in Edinburgh to help bring the Remakery into fruition. Our aim is to assist in the creation of a customer-focused combined reuse and repair centre where customers can learn to extend the life of valuable resources through mending and maintenance can purchase good quality second hand goods.
