External Repair Surgeries with The Edinburgh Remakery

The Edinburgh Remakery runs a drop in repair surgery every Thursday evening where you can learn how to repair their own IT equipment and damaged textile items.

And we are now also offering this to external organisations and as part of events as a way to share these skills with a wider audience, and make this knowledge more accessible to the general public.

We were recently invited along to Historic Environment Scotland and Glasgow University to offer their staff members and students a free IT and Textiles repair surgery and an introduction into the wonderful world of reuse. Over the course of these two events alone, we saved an amazing 16kg of textiles and 18kg of IT equipment from going to waste and ending up in the landfill, and helped teach 24 people how to fix their broken items!

They said: “Our staff café has been buzzing with newly upskilled staff today!”

Why not book a repair surgery or workshop for your staff or service users? We can travel to you and tailor a workshop to your needs.
